Full Stack Engineer / Technical Lead

Own product execution and engineering quality. Orchestrate AI agents to ship robust, well-designed features.

EngineeringRemote – USFull Time

About the Role

At Tellen, we’re building secure automation tools that fundamentally change how auditors work—freeing teams from rote tasks so they can focus on judgment where it matters. We’re solving hard problems in a niche, high-trust space. We’re looking for a technical leader who can own both product execution and engineering quality. At Tellen, your ‘team’ is a set of AI agents. You’ll manage and coordinate them, drive product development from the ground up, and ensure what ships is well-designed, robust, and valuable to our customers.

🧩
What You'll Work On

Lead development by orchestrating AI agents to build features end-to-end
Shape and enforce high standards for code quality, architecture, and UX
Manage multiple, concurrent product and infrastructure efforts across the platform
Collaborate closely with design, product, and customers to define priorities and outcomes
Build AI-powered workflows that connect LLMs to real data and real decisions

What We're Looking For

3–5+ years shipping full-stack applications end-to-end
Proven ability to lead and coordinate complex, concurrent projects
Deep understanding of product, UX, and engineering fundamentals—you know how apps work without asking an AI
Excellent technical communication: clear, precise, and collaborative
Strong sense of ownership and standards for quality, reliability, and user experience
Curiosity about AI and eagerness to harness AI agents as collaborators

Bonus Points For

Experience with integrations or production AI systems
Familiarity with single-tenant or on-premise architectures
Early-stage startup experience

Who You Are

You don’t need a perfect resume—you need hunger, humility, and taste. You think clearly, communicate well, and hold yourself (and the product) to a high standard. You know how to lead work across ambiguity, and you aren’t afraid to dive deep into technical details when it matters. You’re not here to coast—you’re here to build something meaningful.

Head of Sales (Former Audit Practitioner)

Sell Tellen to the firms you came from. Built for a former audit partner or senior manager who knows the buyer cold and wants to share in a 20% net-of-sales commission program.

SalesRemote – US (heavy buyer travel expected)Full Time

About the Role

We are looking for the most credible person an audit firm can buy from: someone who has actually run engagements, signed reports, defended workpapers in inspection, and lived the busy season at a Big 4, BDO, RSM, Grant Thornton, regional, or top mid-market firm. This is a sales leadership role for a former practitioner. You will own the entire revenue motion — strategy, pipeline, pricing, contracts, expansion — selling to the people you used to be: managing partners, audit quality leaders, innovation officers, and engagement partners. You will not sell on hype. You will sell on a tool you yourself would have killed to have when you were the senior manager three weeks before a 10-K was due. The commission program is intentionally aggressive: 20% of net-of-sales (i.e., post-discount, post-implementation cost) for every deal you close, on top of base. We want you to feel the upside of every contract you sign, in the same way an equity partner feels the upside of an engagement they originate. We want sellers who think like owners and execute like the audit partners who built their book one inspection at a time.

🧩
What You'll Work On

Own end-to-end sales: top-of-funnel through close, multi-year renewal, expansion, and customer reference development
Build the sales playbook: ICP, qualification framework, demo script, pricing model, MSA negotiation, security review, deployment scoping
Sit with managing partners, audit quality leaders, and chief innovation officers at Big 4 and mid-market firms — speak their language, defend the platform on technical and methodological grounds
Partner with the Forward Deploy / Solutions Architect team to scope, pilot, and roll out engagements at signed firms
Build the field motion at AICPA ENGAGE, regional CPA society conferences, peer-review group meetings, and the inspection-debrief circuit
Hire and lead account executives and sales engineers as the funnel demands
Own the forecast — be the person the founders trust on a Friday afternoon when the question is "is the quarter going to land?"
Feed product priorities back from the field with the precision of someone who has actually performed the procedure being automated

What We're Looking For

8+ years in public accounting, audit, or assurance — with at least 3 years at the senior manager, director, or partner level
CPA license (active or inactive) required — we will not waive this
Deep working knowledge of audit methodology, GAAS / PCAOB / ISA standards, and the engagement lifecycle from planning through report issuance
A network you can pick up the phone with: managing partners, audit quality leaders, innovation officers, or peers at firms in your tier
Demonstrated commercial instinct — you have either run a book, owned engagement economics, or successfully sold a service / tool into a partner-led firm
Ruthless executor: you set a date, the date holds; you build a forecast, the forecast lands
Genuine excitement about AI in audit — not because it is trendy, but because you have already concluded the manual workflow is broken

Our Stack

Backend
Infrastructure
HubSpot or equivalentLinkedIn Sales NavigatorDocuSignA clean CRM hygiene practice

Bonus Points For

Prior experience leading a national audit innovation or audit-tech function at a Big 4 / mid-market firm
You have personally signed off on engagements where AI / data analytics tools were used, and can speak to inspection results from those engagements
Experience selling, buying, or piloting another audit-tech platform (DataSnipper, MindBridge, Auditboard, Caseware, Inflo, Validis, etc.)
Active on the speaking circuit (AICPA, peer-review groups, CPA society panels) — you are already a known voice in the practice
Direct experience under PCAOB or peer-review inspection — you know what defends in front of an inspector

Who You Are

We want a former practitioner who is hungry for the second act, who is going to outsell pure-play SaaS reps because the buyer trusts them in a way no one without a CPA can be trusted, and who wants the upside to match. We respect the craft of audit — this is a seat for someone who wants to use that craft to dramatically change how the work gets done.

Head of Quality (AI + Product)

Own how good Tellen is — across our AI agents, our product, and our pipeline. Build the evaluation framework, the regression net, and the testing culture that audit-grade software demands.

EngineeringRemote – USFull Time

About the Role

Audit firms run their reputation on quality. So do we. The hardest engineering problem at Tellen is not building features — it is making sure every feature, every agent, and every model upgrade still does the right thing on every customer’s data, every day. We are looking for a senior leader to own that problem end to end. You will define what "quality" means for an AI-native audit platform, build the evaluation framework that lets us prove it, and establish the automated testing infrastructure that catches regressions before customers do. You will partner with the engineering team to raise the floor, and with the founders to set the bar. You will be the person who can answer: ‘How do we know this agent is better today than it was last week?’ ‘Did the model swap quietly degrade revenue cycle audits?’ ‘What is our defect rate per engagement and is it trending the right way?’ — and the person who builds the systems that make those answers cheap to produce.

🧩
What You'll Work On

Define Tellen’s quality bar: precision, recall, faithfulness, and audit-defensibility metrics for every agent and workflow we ship
Build the AI evaluation framework: golden datasets, automated grading rubrics, regression suites, and continuous evals tied to every prompt, tool, and model change
Stand up the automated testing infrastructure: unit, integration, contract, end-to-end, and load testing across the Next.js app, the Temporal worker fleet, and the agent runtime
Own the CI/CD quality gates — what blocks a deploy, what triggers a rollback, what gets paged on at 3am
Define and operationalize the human-in-the-loop review workflow that converts auditor feedback into training/eval data
Hire and lead a small, dense team of QA / SDET / ML-eval engineers as the company grows
Partner with engineering leadership on architecture choices that make the system testable by design
Be the internal escalation point for every customer-reported quality issue — own the post-mortem and the regression-prevention artifact

What We're Looking For

7+ years in software quality, SDET, ML evaluation, or platform engineering, including at least 3 years in a leadership role
You have built an automated testing or AI evaluation framework from a green field — not just maintained one
Deep familiarity with LLM evaluation: hallucination detection, faithfulness scoring, retrieval grounding, agent trajectory grading, golden-set curation
Strong opinions on how to test deterministic systems and probabilistic systems differently — and how they meet in production
Hands-on with at least one mainstream eval framework (LangSmith, Braintrust, Inspect, OpenAI Evals, Phoenix, custom) and one mainstream test runner (Jest/Vitest, Playwright, pytest, Cypress)
Comfortable in the data: can write SQL, read traces, profile a slow query, reason about Postgres explain plans
Track record of dramatically lowering defect-escape rate in a previous role — bring numbers

Bonus Points For

Background in audit, GRC, SOC reporting, or another regulated quality regime — you have lived inside an ISQM-1 / ISA 220 firm
Experience building or running a model-evaluation platform at an AI-first company
You have shipped a fault-injection or chaos-engineering practice in production
CPA license, formal QE certification, or a background that gives you immediate credibility with auditors
Open-source contributions to test runners, eval frameworks, or observability tooling

Who You Are

Quality is a leadership job, not a checking job. You will be measured on how high the floor is, not how loud the alarms are. You’ll have authority to block ships, the budget to build the right tools, and the obligation to make every engineer better at their craft. If you have ever looked at a regression that escaped to a customer and thought ‘this should have been impossible to ship,’ this role exists to make that the default.

Head of Marketing & Brand

Own everything outside the product — brand, design, story, social, and presence. Make Tellen the most trusted name in AI for audit before we make the most pitches.

MarketingRemote – US (NYC / SF / Chicago preferred)Full Time

About the Role

Tellen is building the AI platform that will reshape how the world’s auditors work. The product is the most defensible part of the moat; the brand is the second. We’re looking for a senior marketing leader to own the second. This is not a marketing operations role. It’s a creative, strategic, and operational leadership role across brand, design, content, social, events, partner marketing, and field presence. You’ll set the voice, the visual system, the narrative, and the cadence — and you’ll execute against them while you build the team underneath you. You will partner directly with the founders on positioning and the go-to-market story, with the Head of Sales on the field motion, and with engineering and design on what shows up on the website, in the product, and on stage. You will be measured on inbound pipeline, brand recognition inside accounting, and the quality of the work we put into the world.

🧩
What You'll Work On

Own Tellen’s brand end-to-end: voice, visual system, narrative, story, and the standards everything in market is held to
Run the marketing site (tellen.ai) as a product — concept, design, copy, A/B tests, and ship cadence
Build a content engine across long-form (POVs, technical deep-dives, customer stories) and short-form (LinkedIn, X, video) that reaches CFOs, audit partners, and quality leaders
Stand up our presence at the conferences and events that move our buyer (AICPA, ENGAGE, Accounting Today, regional CPA society events) — booth, talks, dinners, and follow-up
Partner with sales on demand-gen plays: ABM into Big 4 / mid-market firms, lifecycle email, sales enablement, and competitive narrative
Hire and lead the marketing team as we scale (designer, content lead, demand-gen, eventually a comms lead)
Own the metrics: site traffic, MQL → SQL → opportunity conversion, brand recall in target accounts, share of voice in audit-tech

What We're Looking For

7+ years in marketing leadership at a B2B SaaS or vertical SaaS company, with at least one stretch as the most senior marketer in the room
Demonstrated taste — point us at the brand, site, deck, video, or booth you are most proud of, and walk us through the choices
Hands-on background in at least two of: brand & design, content, web, demand-gen, events. We are too early for a manager-of-managers
Track record of building a category narrative or category-defining brand from a small starting point
Comfort selling to (or marketing into) finance, audit, accounting, legal, or another high-trust regulated buyer
Strong product sense — you can sit with engineers, design product moments that double as marketing, and know when a feature is the story
Operator instincts: you ship, you measure, you cut what does not work

Our Stack

Frontend
Next.js (marketing site)TailwindSanity CMS
Backend
HubSpot or equivalentSendGridGA4Clarity
Infrastructure
VercelFigmaNotionLinear

Bonus Points For

Background as a CPA, auditor, or finance professional — you understand the buyer in your bones
Experience marketing AI products to skeptical buyers (you know how to talk about LLMs without overselling)
Comfort on camera and on stage — webinars, podcasts, keynote talks, customer panels
Prior PR / analyst-relations experience (Big 4 alliance announcements, Gartner / Forrester briefings)
You have shipped a real podcast, newsletter, or video series with measurable reach

Who You Are

We are extremely high-standards on craft. The brand should look and feel as serious as the auditors who use the product. You’ll have a seat at the table for every major company decision, the autonomy to ship without committee, and the responsibility to be the standard everyone else is held to. If you want to build the brand for the most consequential B2B AI company in audit, this is that seat.

Forward Deploy Engineer / Solutions Architect

Serve as our embedded expert at client accounting firms—designing, configuring, and deploying AI agent workflows that automate audit engagements end to end.

Customer Success & ImplementationRemote (with client travel as needed)Full Time

About the Role

We’re looking for a Forward Deploy Engineer / Solutions Architect who will serve as our embedded expert at client accounting firms. This is not a typical engineering role and it’s not a typical consulting role—it’s both. You’ll sit alongside audit teams, understand their day-to-day workflows at a granular level, and then design and build AI agent workflows on the Tellen platform that automate their engagements end to end. The ideal candidate is a former practitioner—someone who has lived the busy season, prepared workpapers, navigated PCAOB or AICPA standards, and knows the pain points firsthand. You’ll bring that domain credibility into every client conversation and use it to translate real-world audit challenges into automated solutions.

🧩
What You'll Work On

Embed directly with client audit and accounting teams to deeply understand their engagement workflows, methodologies, and pain points
Design, configure, and deploy AI agent workflows on the Tellen platform tailored to each client’s specific needs
Map existing manual processes (workpaper prep, sampling, evidence requests, analytical procedures, tie-outs) to automatable agent workflows
Serve as the primary technical point of contact for assigned clients, owning the relationship from onboarding through ongoing optimization
Collaborate with the product and engineering teams to translate client feedback into platform improvements and new features
Build reusable workflow templates and best-practice libraries that accelerate future deployments
Train client teams on the Tellen platform and coach them through adoption of AI-assisted audit procedures
Identify expansion opportunities within accounts and support the sales team with technical expertise during prospect engagements

What We're Looking For

3–8 years of experience in public accounting, audit, or assurance—ideally at a Big 4, regional, or mid-market firm
CPA license (active or inactive) strongly preferred
Deep working knowledge of audit methodologies, GAAS/PCAOB standards, and the engagement lifecycle
Demonstrated comfort with technology: you’ve built automations, written scripts, used data analytics tools, or otherwise gone beyond standard audit software
Ability to understand and articulate technical concepts to both practitioners and engineers
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills—you’ll be the face of Tellen at client firms
Self-starter mindset with high tolerance for ambiguity (this is a startup—you’ll be building the playbook)

Our Stack

Bonus Points For

Experience with AI/ML tools, prompt engineering, or workflow automation platforms (n8n, Zapier, Power Automate, etc.)
Familiarity with Python, SQL, or other scripting languages
Background in IT audit, SOC reporting, or technology risk
Experience at an accounting technology or GRC software company
Prior experience in a solutions architect, implementation consultant, or forward deployed engineer role

Who You Are

Your practitioner experience is a superpower here—not something you’re leaving behind. You’ll have direct impact on the product roadmap and company direction. We deeply respect accounting expertise and believe AI should augment practitioners, not replace them.
