About the Role

Audit firms run their reputation on quality. So do we. The hardest engineering problem at Tellen is not building features — it is making sure every feature, every agent, and every model upgrade still does the right thing on every customer’s data, every day. We are looking for a senior leader to own that problem end to end. You will define what "quality" means for an AI-native audit platform, build the evaluation framework that lets us prove it, and establish the automated testing infrastructure that catches regressions before customers do. You will partner with the engineering team to raise the floor, and with the founders to set the bar. You will be the person who can answer: ‘How do we know this agent is better today than it was last week?’ ‘Did the model swap quietly degrade revenue cycle audits?’ ‘What is our defect rate per engagement and is it trending the right way?’ — and the person who builds the systems that make those answers cheap to produce.

What You'll Work On

Define Tellen’s quality bar: precision, recall, faithfulness, and audit-defensibility metrics for every agent and workflow we ship
Build the AI evaluation framework: golden datasets, automated grading rubrics, regression suites, and continuous evals tied to every prompt, tool, and model change
Stand up the automated testing infrastructure: unit, integration, contract, end-to-end, and load testing across the Next.js app, the Temporal worker fleet, and the agent runtime
Own the CI/CD quality gates — what blocks a deploy, what triggers a rollback, what gets paged on at 3am
Define and operationalize the human-in-the-loop review workflow that converts auditor feedback into training/eval data
Hire and lead a small, dense team of QA / SDET / ML-eval engineers as the company grows
Partner with engineering leadership on architecture choices that make the system testable by design
Be the internal escalation point for every customer-reported quality issue — own the post-mortem and the regression-prevention artifact

What We're Looking For

7+ years in software quality, SDET, ML evaluation, or platform engineering, including at least 3 years in a leadership role
You have built an automated testing or AI evaluation framework from a green field — not just maintained one
Deep familiarity with LLM evaluation: hallucination detection, faithfulness scoring, retrieval grounding, agent trajectory grading, golden-set curation
Strong opinions on how to test deterministic systems and probabilistic systems differently — and how they meet in production
Hands-on with at least one mainstream eval framework (LangSmith, Braintrust, Inspect, OpenAI Evals, Phoenix, custom) and one mainstream test runner (Jest/Vitest, Playwright, pytest, Cypress)
Comfortable in the data: can write SQL, read traces, profile a slow query, reason about Postgres explain plans
Track record of dramatically lowering defect-escape rate in a previous role — bring numbers

About the Role

Tellen is building the AI platform that will reshape how the world’s auditors work. The product is the most defensible part of the moat; the brand is the second. We’re looking for a senior marketing leader to own the second. This is not a marketing operations role. It’s a creative, strategic, and operational leadership role across brand, design, content, social, events, partner marketing, and field presence. You’ll set the voice, the visual system, the narrative, and the cadence — and you’ll execute against them while you build the team underneath you. You will partner directly with the founders on positioning and the go-to-market story, with the Head of Sales on the field motion, and with engineering and design on what shows up on the website, in the product, and on stage. You will be measured on inbound pipeline, brand recognition inside accounting, and the quality of the work we put into the world.

What We're Looking For

7+ years in marketing leadership at a B2B SaaS or vertical SaaS company, with at least one stretch as the most senior marketer in the room
Demonstrated taste — point us at the brand, site, deck, video, or booth you are most proud of, and walk us through the choices
Hands-on background in at least two of: brand & design, content, web, demand-gen, events. We are too early for a manager-of-managers
Track record of building a category narrative or category-defining brand from a small starting point
Comfort selling to (or marketing into) finance, audit, accounting, legal, or another high-trust regulated buyer
Strong product sense — you can sit with engineers, design product moments that double as marketing, and know when a feature is the story

About the Role

We’re looking for a Forward Deploy Engineer / Solutions Architect who will serve as our embedded expert at client accounting firms. This is not a typical engineering role and it’s not a typical consulting role—it’s both. You’ll sit alongside audit teams, understand their day-to-day workflows at a granular level, and then design and build AI agent workflows on the Tellen platform that automate their engagements end to end. The ideal candidate is a former practitioner—someone who has lived the busy season, prepared workpapers, navigated PCAOB or AICPA standards, and knows the pain points firsthand. You’ll bring that domain credibility into every client conversation and use it to translate real-world audit challenges into automated solutions.

Embed directly with client audit and accounting teams to deeply understand their engagement workflows, methodologies, and pain points
Design, configure, and deploy AI agent workflows on the Tellen platform tailored to each client’s specific needs
Map existing manual processes (workpaper prep, sampling, evidence requests, analytical procedures, tie-outs) to automatable agent workflows
Serve as the primary technical point of contact for assigned clients, owning the relationship from onboarding through ongoing optimization
Collaborate with the product and engineering teams to translate client feedback into platform improvements and new features

What We're Looking For

3–8 years of experience in public accounting, audit, or assurance—ideally at a Big 4, regional, or mid-market firm
CPA license (active or inactive) strongly preferred
Deep working knowledge of audit methodologies, GAAS/PCAOB standards, and the engagement lifecycle
Demonstrated comfort with technology: you’ve built automations, written scripts, used data analytics tools, or otherwise gone beyond standard audit software
Ability to understand and articulate technical concepts to both practitioners and engineers
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills—you’ll be the face of Tellen at client firms
Self-starter mindset with high tolerance for ambiguity (this is a startup—you’ll be building the playbook)
